Our original mod developer might also have chosen StoryProgression in which to put the bug fix as that one also concerns itself with pregnancies, but its focus there is more on relationships and genetics and not everyone wants to run their games the StoryProgression way no matter how many mods they choose to use. The reason that the by now infamous infinite birth loop/freeze bug is fixed by way of Woohooer is that is the mod that concerns itself with romance, reproduction, and giving birth. If we may have a chance to read the script errors accompanying these active sim resets, and those that ErrorTrap might be reporting on in general, then we may be better able to help explain what is happening there.
The mods are tools though, they aren't always going to be "Set It and Forget It" kinds of solutions especially for already in-progress games that have never seen them before and might be in dire need of data cleanup if they can even be salvaged. This kind of gameplay would have been impossible without OW and ET because of all the goofy things including total world corruption that can otherwise creep in over time, and many of those hundreds of thousands of mod users that Chain mentions report similar success stories. I have been playing the same ongoing game since late 2011 and have never had to move my sims to a new world the EA way to essentially start over like just about everyone else has who has attempted such a long-running game without the mods - although to be fair, my later generation sims are spread out among various Traveler mod connected worlds within the same game and are not all concentrated in the same place.
I looked up the error code and it was directly linked to OW so that mod is no longer installed and no more forced resets so OW is not welcome in my game.Ī bit more about Overwatch and ErrorTrap, if I may. So is there a mod or downloadable fix that will stop pregnant sims from breaking my game? aside from obviously disabling the ability for the sims to have babys? and that does not require the use of the game breaking mod OverWatch? after the first TA my active sim kept getting reset every few seconds, he was walking up stairs after eating, reset, he was sleeping, reset, he was playing with magic, reset. so yay? but the thing is you cant really have generations and family trees without pregnancy so how do I get rid of this bug? I read it was a bug that is already in the game without mods so what few mods i had before, which had never caused issue before aren't the issue. got rid of that sim, and turned off pregnancy, have yet to run into this game breaking issue anymore.
what now!? after saving and restarting closer and closer to the time stop, i did another TA and would you believe it? another pregnant sim was braking my game. about a week or so later in game it did them same thing. So using MC i went to total annihilation and only had 1 pregnant sim, i removed that sim and poof the game no longer froze.
4:36 pm the game froze! I had read in a few places that pregnant sims can cause this issue. The last thing that was suggested was a Total reset using Master Controller, what do i have to lose? I tried that the game went to 4:12 pm i was excited i finally fixed the problem and could play the game again. Add more virtual memory, added twice as much as it had still the game freezes at 4:11 pm on Friday. I have done this still the issue remained, some people said use resetsim * tried it, did not fix the issue.
most of the posts all said to install and use OverWatch, and ErrorTrap. a lot of other players have run into this same issue. i tried playing the game multiple times after that only for the same thing to happen again and again. I had to close the game down through the task manager. I could move my mouse around but nothing was responding. you could see hear the music from the radio playing, the water was still flowing, the Zs from sleeping sims still moved, but everything else was frozen. Almost a week ago now I was playing my game I saved it was in game Friday at 3:35 pm I was in the future, and was going to talk to the time traveler to see what other opportunities he could give me.
